Fun match three gameplay.
Restore the mystical gardens.
When it comes to match three games we are always accustomed to get into some interesting game worlds, and Babylonia certainly provides us with that opportunity. Babylonia is a match three game in which your only goal is to relive the golden days of Babylon and recreate the fabled town simply by matching items on the board.
Of course, the original and fun match three gameplay remains, so the main purpose here is to get the highest score that you possibly can as you connect 3 or more similar items on the game board.
The overall items on the board are quite different and don’t necessarily connect you with a certain theme, but in the end of the level all the items you collected enable you to rebuilt the city of Babylon, which we found to be a very interesting thing. Yes, a lot of match three games use this particular mechanics, but actually being able to rebuild Babylon from the ground up is certainly something amazing.
There aren’t that many things to say about the gameplay, as overall you don’t have that much to do other than matching items on the board. You do have some very interesting things such as ice, fire or shackles that will bring an additional set of challenges to the board, which might be really nice for you.
Moreover, you also have the opportunity to use some interesting bonus items that reload as you match items on the board. These are quite useful as you play and you won’t be able to complete many levels without them, so it’s important to have them active at all times because you simply don’t know what will happen in the meantime.
From start to finish you can describe Babylonia as being a rollercoaster ride. It might start up quite easy, but once you start playing it you will immediately see that there are tons of challenges so you will spend a lot of time trying to solve the later levels. Despite that, the whole experience provided by the game certainly makes everything worth it in the end.
Graphically Babylonia looks a little dated, but the effects and animations are still good. While it might look a little load and it doesn’t work that good on widescreens, Babylonia is still tons of fun, and it even comes with a great themed music. We found the music in this game to be really good and it successfully manages to immerse us into a unique, large game world.
In the end, Babylonia is a good match three game that, while it doesn’t manage to impress, it still provides a lot of interesting challenges for those brave enough. It’s fun and interesting, so do try it if you want a good match three title. Babylonia Περίληψη
