Gnomes Garden
A beautiful garden has suddenly withered and it’s up to you to restore it.
Put your crew of sorceresses and gnomes to work by gathering resources and restoring trees.
Bring back the beauty of the garden that was once the pride of your kingdom.
Gnome’s Garden is a fantasy game that combines the elements of role-playing game (RPG) and resource management games into one casual game that is sure to endear itself to your heart and mind. The concept is very simple and yet you will certainly find yourself not wanting to stop the game once you’ve begun playing it.
The introduction tells the story of a King who ruled a wide and prosperous land. In honor of his daughter, he developed a big part of his kingdom into a beautiful garden. One day, most parts of the garden mysteriously withered and died. The King, after seeing his lifetime work dying before his eyes, also fell ill. His daughter, the Princess, decided to go out and work to restore the garden that his father had worked for all her life.
After a beautifully drawn animated intro, you get to play as the Princess, who finally got to enlist the help of garden gnomes in working to restore the garden back to its full glory. With their help, together with a group of other magical people, you will work to bring back the garden, one path at a time.
A big part of every level deals with gathering the necessary resources. The game has five resources, namely: fruits, stones, crystals, and wood. These are necessary in order to build structures in a level like the Mill, the Quarry, the Mine and Sawmill. These structures will produce the necessary sources for you so that your gnome does not always have to collect it for himself, but could concentrate instead of tasks like repairing a pothole, restoring a broken bridge and building landmarks like a Stonehenge, in one level.
Aside from the Gnome, you also get to make use of Sorceresses in some levels. Sorceresses are necessary for restoring the life of trees that have withered and died.
At the start of every level, you will have access to only one gnome. However, if you decide to level up the gnome’s house, it will give you another gnome to work with. While you can always make do with one gnome, having more than one is a lot better because each level is timed. If you are able to finish each level in as fast a time as you can manage, you get to receive certain rewards.
Like any casual game, Gnomes Garden also has power-ups that you make use of. One of these is the Speed Boot power-up, which allows your gnomes to move twice faster than normal for a limited time. This is very handy if the level is very wide and you have many tasks to take care of. With a very limited time at your disposal, you can finish levels a lot faster than you would without the power-up.
The game’s deceptively simple yet amazing gameplay is well rounded by a whimsical soundtrack that should transport your mind right to where your gnomes and crew are working.
In other words, Gnomes Garden is a must-play! The game is free to try at Big Fish for 60 minutes, and that should be enough time for you to fall in love with it and make this game an addition to your game collection. Gnomes Garden Summary
