Jack the Parrot and his companion Bella are embarking on a worldwide trip but they can't do it all on their own. You must help them on their journey as they travel across the world in search of the great treasures that no one has uncovered up until now. It's an awesome match-3 game that's sure to get anyone engaged.
Like most match-3 games of today Jack Parrot's tutorial sequence spans itself across the first few levels of the game rather than being a standalone sequence. The tutorial will teach you all the basics of the game such as how to achieve objectives, how to match the objects together efficiently, how to spawn special objects, how to use power-ups and pretty much everything else that you need to know. The tutorial levels are pretty easy to complete so you'll be done with them shortly and will be well on your way to making good progress in the game.
In terms of gameplay, Jack Parrot feels like a pretty traditional match-3 game but what's great about it is that it's really well polished and refined. On a technical level, there are absolutely no issues that you'll ever run into so expect a really smooth experience. The method of playing is the standard; you must swap the places of two adjacent objects in order to form a match or three or more. Upon doing so, the matched objects will disappear from the playing area and you'll be given points. Matching together at least four or more objects in one go will spawn special ones that have various kinds of bonus effects such as exploding in a line or in a small radius around themselves when matched. Alongside the usual gameplay you also have some great power-ups that can help out in many different ways when needed. There's a power-up that can remove a single object from the playing area at will, there's one that spawns a special gem wherever you want and there's also a power-up that allows you to swap the places of two adjacent gems without any penalty. All power-ups are available in limited quantity so it's advised that you use them as efficiently as possible.
Going into visuals, while Jack Parrot is nothing special, it's still a pretty solid looking game. The overall art style is in-line with most modern match-3 games which is great, the animations are rather limited but the ones that do occur look really well done, the sound effects are high quality so its overall a really well presented game.
As for micro-transactions, players can use real world money to purchase lives, in-game power-ups and much more. Jack Parrot is a solid match-3 game that might not be anything ground breaking but is still great to pass the time with. Jack Parrot Summary
