Sugar Shuffle is a simple yet unique tile-matching game. In the story of this game, Annie, a doughnut and sweets seller was doing business as usual in a beautiful day when suddenly, a weird tornado whiffs her off to an unknown place. When she comes to, she finds herself in a world filled with cute animals that can talk. Her truck had crash-landed in the front yard of a talking cat called Umi, and Annie has decided to clean things up with his help. But this is only the beginning of an exciting adventure for her!
As tile-matching games go, the rules of the game are straightforward. Simply tap on a tile or “sweet” on the board, and tap on another identical one to link them together, and remove them from the board. The trick to linking them together is to form a line in the same row or column to each other. However, you can also clear the sweets by linking them with two, and even three straight lines joined together!
When you clear 2 identical sweets from the board, you can get an Ice Cream powerup if you manage to clear another 2 sweets that are the same type as those before them. The Ice Cream powerup is good for clearing up sweets surrounding it when activated. After you get the hang of things, you can even link 2 ice cream powerups together to make an even more powerful one that will clear an entire row and column when activated!
Your goal for each level is displayed on the top left corner, showing you the type and number of tiles you need to clear to win. You have to clear the stage within a limited number of moves given, and depending on your performance for that level, you can receive up to a maximum of 3 stars rating. Once you have successfully completed a stage, you can proceed with the next task that Annie wants to do, such as clearing up the debris on Umi’s front yard. Recreate a unique look for the place with the different options given to you whenever you replace the broken stuff like the serving tables, street lamps and so on!
Eventually, you will encounter Boss levels where Annie challenges a tough boss in the story. Fear not, for you will be accompanied by pets that will aid you in your fight by attacking the boss for you. The trick is to clear the correct tiles that correspond with your pet to order it to attack. For instance, you want to clear the red sweets to order Buddy the dog, your very first pet, to attack a boss.
Each pet has its own level and stats such as health and attack. Additionally, every pet has its own unique set of skills that benefits you in different ways when brought into play. From the Pet menu, you can have a look at the Pet info to see their various stats. This is also where you can feed them Pet Biscuits to upgrade their level, and evolve them when they are ready! From the in-game Shop, you can try your luck in collecting a variety of pets using the various currencies available in the game, including the premium currency.
